Big Thief New Song (Born For Loving You) Just a great uplifting fun song of relationship. Adrianne Lenker is so good. Saw them in concert 2022. She was almost shy when talking to the audience, but then she controlled once they started performing. Love this band.

Bon Enfant (Aujourd”hui) (Ciel Bleu) Good Child. Love the name. Love their sound.
La Femme (It’s Time To Wake Up) (Ou va la monde) (Si Un Jour-Deezer Sessions) Just a great indie sound.
The Velvet Underground (Oh! Sweet Nuthin) Old Song. Have it on repeat lately. Sad song but kind of inspiring at the same time. Hard to explain.
Concerts
The dam has finally broken. After a very slow 2023, concerts for alternative bands are dropping from the sky for 2024. Oh Thank God! WooooHooooo.
Alvvays-(Undertow) (Marry Me Archie) Love Love Loved this concert. Have so many clips to post. If you get a chance to see, GO!
La Femme- (Ou Va Le Monde) Made a pit stop in DC to see them. Great Show. Managed to stay on the edges of the pit.
Lucy Dacus-(Brando) (I Don’t Want To Be Funny Anymore) Lucy had a slipped disc and played the concert laying on a couch. It was different, but good.
The War On Drugs-(Holding On) Great Concert. Another band i would see again.
Dehd-(Flying) (Bad Love) Just simple fun party music. The floor was bouncing as the crowd jumped to the beat.
Courtney Barnett- (Anant Gardner) (Pedestrian At Best) She is a rocker. She shreds her guitar. Lucy Dacus opened. She was able to stand and perform this time. :)
The Decemberists-(Severed) (Make You Better) Just a lot of fun, feel good music. Go see them. The between set music was a French artist. It was fun.
StarFucker (Open Your Eyes) (Golden Light) So much fun. Good music with dancing dogs and astronauts.
Alt-J (Tessellate) (Something Good) They come and go from my listening list. They are sooo good in concert.

Airline Videos Live, LA Flights (YouTube) A live stream of Jets coming and going at LAX, with commentary. Such an aircraft geek channel….I Love It!
Old pre-code mystery movies on YouTube. Most are really bad, but they are so different from the known titles of the 30’s.
Warographics (YouTube) Great series of videos that range from historical to current political or military events. The host/creator Simon Whistler delivers concise well rounded reviews of historical and current events pulling in details the major news outlets don’t have time to fit into their 2 minute summary. This is one of several series he hosts.
Jay Swanson-Paris Videos American ex-pat in France. Life vlogs. Entertaining, and just seems to be a good guy, making his dream come true.

Perspective w/Waldemar Januszczak- (Van Gough) (The Renaissance Origins) A wonderful series of art documentaries ranging from individual artists to art movements. Light in tone, fun and just flat out entertaining. A great way to to get an Art 101 education.
Photo Genius: Paul Farris-Brisbane based photographer who creates photographic video’s on everything from basic camera instruction, to more complex techniques.
France 24: On YouTube. French news streaming. Great for a different perspective on the world.
Movies/Series
Inventing David Geffen- (2012) Documentary. Great inside look at on of the pivotal players in modern entertainment. Probably a must watch for any budding entertainment wanna be.
Blue Eyed Samurai- Netflix Anime. A self taught warrior and an outcast of Japanese society looks for vengence from those that created her, and abused her mother.
Bosh Legacy-A former LA Police detective who is willing to bend justice to achieve justice. (Prime Video)
Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of our Lives-(2017) A look at the music mogul that has been at the heart of music for 60 years.
The Wrecking Crew-(2016) A great documentary on a group of LA session musicians in the 60’s. They worked with the biggest producers and bands of the era. In many cases replacing the bands themselves on the recordings.
My Next Guest Needs No Introduction-David Letterman interviews individuals that….need no introduction. Very good Netflix series.
Sherlock Holmes-(1930’s-40’s) Just light and fun mysteries from the hey day of Black n White Hollywood films. Great disconnect films.
Magic & Light-(2022) Disney+ Documentary about the history of Industrial Light and Magic. Great documentary for anyone who has seen a Sci Fi movie in the last 50 years.
Current Reads.
Audio Book: Les Misérables So Good. Wonderful story of life between Victor Hugo’s history lessons.
Audio Book: 1984 This dystopian world has often been applied to Stalinist Communism. This story might be worth another read or listen. A good reminder of what we might be giving up in this day of easy communication and those that speak with the loudest voices telling us what we should think. I’m not talking Constative or Liberal. Either extreme or others would be happy to have you locked into their view, their thoughts of the world.
